I'm not featuring the gay bigotry in the African-American community so of course I don't see it for the African community in that arena. That doesn't mean that I don't want to. I'm many times more attracted to African men than African-American, mainly due to my preference for Godiva dark chocolate. Plus they have particular features and an accent that I like. I probably could date an African because a bunch of African guys work near my job. Dont know if it stemmed from him generally just not finding African women in particular attractive or if it came from a particular aversion for Africans. This was years ago though so who knows maybe he's changed since then. All the Africans I know date or are married to African Americans.

Just like dating any other foreigner. In my experience, Africans namely Nigerians typically date their own. At my old college there were probably more Nigerians than there were AA's and the Nigerians weren't very open to American Blacks. They had their own events, parties and organizations. They're a very cohesive people from what I've observed. Well, I'm African, but I was born and grew up in America.

From what of I've seen, I think it's a generation thing. The africans I know, who are my age early 20s date African Americans and Africans. Some even date hispanics and Whites. I do think for the older generations my parents and older , they generally prefer to date people who share their culture culture, heritage, and tradition is VERY important to them and are even more tribalistic.

They'll claim Africa all day I love my people , but they don't give a shit if you're not African. If they're into, they're into you.

Wait for the right Black man who makes you happy. This is for all the hardcore lovers of Black culture, who have a pure adoration for Black men's strength and beauty. Open up a little bit. You can befriend and admire Black men for your entire life. You can be close to, spend time with, and enjoy the company of your Black male friends, but there may be a chance that the best person for you may walk right by you simply because you have been using your eyes and not your heart to find the right person.

You should have complete respect for African-American men's families, particularly the matriarchs. Picking a fight, being inflexible, and causing drama at a family gathering will earn you quick excommunication.
